There's 1 second of feedback between "Take me back to dear old Blighty" and the drums pounding in. A 1 second adrenalin blast before a journey of every emotion begins . It doesn't matter what mood I'm in, what I'm doing or where I am in the world, The Queen Is Dead has everything for me. The title tracks gets me off my feet immediately. Those drums cannot fail to do that!! There's beauty throughout, I Know It's Over, Cemetery Gates, Never Had No One Ever, each track emotive and brilliant in it's own special way. Bigmouth Strikes Again always reminds me of seeing Johnny for the first time and being stood in front of him as he starts the riff, something I'll never forget. As for There Is A Light That Never Goes Out, for every Johnny or Morrissey gig I've been to or every indie disco I've danced at, nothing joins strangers together more than that song. That's why it's so good. The best songs do that. Happy Anniversary The Queen Is Dead !!!
