Favourite track: 'The Queen Is Dead'

I reckon I first heard The Queen Is Dead in it's entirety around 1993. I'd read how great it was but it still left me absolutely gobsmacked at how perfect it was. Musically and lyrically it's untouchable. A band right at the top of their game. The title track is my favourite - totally exhilarating stuff. Every track is strong and Johnny's guitar playing is at its awesomely subtle best.

I love it so much because it sounds like no one else. It's one of only maybe half a dozen albums I own that I can play from start to finish without skipping a track. I'm aware Johnny hated that time (making the album), saying it made him ill, but he co-created a timeless masterpiece that I couldn't live without.
