Favourite track: 'I Know It's Over'

Whilst "her royal lowness", the Queen, is turning 90, and the media are busy producing a puke-inducing amount of coverage on her, I’m too busy not caring, because I’m celebrating the victorious 30 year reign of The Smiths' classic masterpiece.

For me, The Queen Is Dead IS the light that never goes out, the friend that always stands by me, even on my darkest days. Amongst its themes of anti-oyalty, loneliness, hope and loss, there is also comedy and tragedy. At times it can be heart-wrenching but so uplifting too. Those urgent pounding drums of the album opener and the outro cries and chimes of I Know It’s Over make the perfect drama.
