Favourite track: 'There Is A Light That Never Goes Out'

The year is 1986 and a 10 year old lad is sitting in a house in the middle of a Macclesfield council estate, with the latest album of the week. The Queen Is Dead. And it's just about to change my understanding of the words 'instant' and 'classic'. The combination of The Smiths and Stephen Street is perfect for the album that's got to better Meat Is Murder. And that's a tall order. But The Queen Is Dead defined a decade and defined my life as a fan of The Smiths. Morrissey and Marr made a lot of people's lives and if The Queen Is Dead isn't in your collection, go and buy it today.
