The Queen is Dead to me is the quintessential classic album template for bands. Whether or not it is their best album it still is an absolute classic for the simple reason that it embodies every aspect of the bands music. Which to me is the sign of any classic album. Let's break it down it's got: A Rocker *Check* Deep introspective pieces *Check* Great Sing a long tunes * Check* Comedy tune * Check* Quirky Rockabilly Tune * Check. It has it all and it fits together perfectly as a flowing album. The Number 1 thing I can always thank this album for is giving me the inspiration to finish my album. I needed an outro song for our album and I was very inspired by the dark and rainy waltz rhythms of "I know It's Over" and "Never Had No One Ever". So I had decided to write something with that sort of theatrical dirge like feel and it made for an awesome ending song! To sum this up I think The Smiths will always be remembered most for this album. Even though some fans will gravitate to different albums more. I think this is biggest testimony to what the smiths were about on a musical and emotional level.
